ABOUT US…
We are five entrepreneurs who have founded an association in Denmark, called ”Kids in Need”.
We want to support and help children and young people, who experience great emotional desertion from their parents. Typically their parents are alcoholics, drug users or other kinds of misusers. These kids are perhaps accommodated outside their own homes with foster families or at homes for children – or it may be kids, who otherwise have been exposed to desertion and a poor childhood.
The association are giving economically support to various, already existing projects, plus through our own social and sports related arrangements. We are trying to give the kids successful experiences and good advice so that they can develop more courage to change their course of life.
THE COMMITTEE
We want to make a difference – and we hope that you will help us do it!
Dea Kudibal – Entrepreneur, designer – 35 years.
“I have always wanted to help but unfortunately didn’t know how to get involved nor which part was the most important elements to focuses on. After I visited several places such as “Gaderummet” (“The Street Room”) and “The Four Seasons” (both public places for children and young people), my mind was in no doubts about how much the Kids needed our attention and support.
My dream is to create a platform that brings together people who has the same passion for the kids and have the same willingness to invest their time, support, money and energy. With that kind of mission we will be able to establish a fundamental fund for the kids that can support and help them all for a much happier life.
Benedicte Balling – Journalist and TV-hostess/reporter – 33 years.
“I have been lucky to grow up in a safe and happy environment. Through my work I am associate with people with a huge network and people who in their position can bring a lot of attention and support to the fund. Most people always take thing for granted and doesn’t realize how lucky they really are which is why my goal is to show them that with a bit of effort we can make a huge difference for the kids and show them a side of life that brings stability, emotional and secure people who actually care tremendously about them.
Unfortunately there are a lot of children and young people in Denmark, who wake up every morning to an uncertain and insecure day ahead of them.
For those kids, life is more about getting through the day the best they can. I really hope, I can help these kids, who has not been as lucky as I have. And I hope I can give them a little more faith in getting a better life – and, last, but not least – give them some dreams.”
Thomas Salil Knudsen – Entrepreneur, 34 years.
“I am active in Rotary Youth Exchange, and take part in giving ambitious young people a possibility to go out and see the world. My goal as a member of the association, “Kids in Need”, are to help making a positive change of life for these kids, who not have the same possibilities as others their age.
I want to participate in helping with little things that make a big difference to a group of people, who really need it.”
Michael Christiani Havemann – Lawyer, 47 years.
”In my opinion we all have a responsibility, as best as we possibly can, to support good initiatives and projects, and I think this really is a good project!”
Regine Thomsen – Personal Coach, 35 years.
“There are too many kids in Denmark, who have had a hard childhood, therefore I want to give them a better setting for a good life.”
THE CHARITY BAR
The first Friday in every month “The Charity Bar” is taking place in Copenhagen – always in a new and well known place.
It is a Fridays bar, and each time approximately eight-ten Ambassadors are participating at these events. Each of them take care of inviting their acquaintances and associates – like the members of “Kids in Need” also do – but everybody are welcome to come and support the good case.
The total amount of money from the entrance, (100 danish kroner), goes directly to our association, “Kids in Need”:
The money from our Charity Bar will each time go to a different purpose – which can be anything from fitness subscription cards, clothes or various events for the kids we have contact to.

In the summer we held our first Charity Dinner, where three Michelin chefs in the kitchen, René Redzepi, Paul Cunningham and Mads Refslund, created a magnificent dinner for 130 invited guests. The atmosphere was on top and the Americam Ambassador, James P. Cain, and his wife, Helen, afterwards invited everyone, who had donated extra gifts to our association, home to their private residence to a dinner a few months later. At that dinner we collected 460.000 DK!!
